Dr Alif Moosajee

Dr Alif Moosajee is the award-winning Principal Dentist of Oakdale Dental and the author of the book The Smiling Dentist. Recognised for his excellence in the general dental profession, he won “Best Young Dentist – Midlands” and “Best Young Dentist – UK” at The Dentistry Awards 2016, and he now serves as a judge for both The Dentistry Awards and The Private Dentistry Awards.
With over 20 years’ experience as a GDP, Dr Moosajee now focuses his practice exclusively on implant dentistry, placing him at the forefront of technological advancement in the field. He is a sought-after speaker nationally and internationally, particularly in the areas of Digital and Implant Dentistry, sharing his expertise with peers around the world.
Driven by a mission to give back and raise standards in dentistry, Alif created the Smiling Dentist YouTube Channel and runs a study club in Leicester, both aimed at disseminating knowledge to dental professionals in all aspects of professional and personal excellence.
A passion for clear communication underpins everything he does. Alif believes that strong communication builds successful relationships with patients, peers, and his team, while poor communication often leads to conflict and frustration. This inspired his book, The Smiling Dentist, written in a jargon-free style to make dentistry accessible for both patients and students. He continues to write articles, serves on the editorial board of Clinical Dentistry, and actively shares his knowledge through teaching and mentorship.
Alif’s commitment to charitable work is inspired by his East African heritage. He passionately supports Bridge 2 Aid, a charity that sends dentists to underserved regions to provide care and train local health workers, leaving a lasting
legacy of improved oral health in communities that need it most.
As the owner of the prestigious Leicester-based Oakdale Dental, Dr Moosajee leads a team delivering implant dentistry, orthodontics, facial rejuvenation, cosmetic and general dentistry, always ensuring patient care is delivered with expertise, compassion, and clarity.
